Barefoot Speaking is the creative depository of Miranda & Erik Barfuss. We’re freewheeling and free of charge. We just try to be real. This is not social media. This is art.

We’ve been making art and love together since 2002, though we totally lost the art in the conforming career, marriage, kids, house portion of life. Mounting the middle age hill in a glorious global pandemic, however, opened the dam of withholding and now we’re back to being real weirdos. Thank God.

In the end (as Ram Dass whispers), we’re all just walking each other home. We’re walking together at 3 miles an hour with God and a great soundtrack. Together we dig, down into the mystery, up into ecstasy (more like Rusted Root than teeth grinding at a rave).

Miranda Barfuss (she/her) is an overgrown lifelong literature student, fellow traveler, wife, mother, municipal government employee, and writer living in Naperville, Illinois. She has a rock and roll covenant heart full of the mystery and writes because emotions are trustworthy. Her work has been published in the 30N Literary Review, Crosswinds Poetry Journal, Clayjar Review and Dreamers Creative Writing. Her book, *Mindy, God and Things I’m Not Supposed to Say* is slated for publication by Manhattan Book Group in 2025.

Erik Barfuss (he/him) is a humble drummer who won’t admit to being a multi-instrumentalist, a picture taker who won’t admit to being a photographer, a downplayed multi-engine pilot, and a gratefully admitted father and husband, employed by the aerospace industry. He is born, raised and residing in Naperville, Illinois.
